The marvelous color patterns are commonly compared to a sunset, earning it the name Dusky Angelfish. It is also known as the Two-spined Angelfish for its two spines found on its underbelly. The Centropyge bispinosa is a very abundant species in the island region of Fiji in the Central Indo-Pacific Ocean. In aquarium life, the Coral Beauty Angelfish makes its home in coral reefs and spends its time in small groups grazing along soft corals. It should be housed with caution among certain types of stony or soft coral. It is recommended to provide at least a 40-gallon or larger enclosure with hiding places for this beautiful cave dweller, as it can be aggressive, especially if stressed.Coral Beauty Angelfish are omnivores and will feed on almost anything, from sea algae to frozen shrimp. Reaching a maximum length of 4 inches, this unique fish will drastically improve any established aquarium and is quite easy to care for. The Coral Beauty Angelfish is generally very shy and secretive and can be seen hovering near live food sources to swiftly dart in for an unexpected attack. The exceedingly small teeth allow it to reach food that other fish may miss or leave behind in the cracks and crevices of coral.
