The Two Spot Goby are adorned with twin markings resembling eyes along its dorsal fins that have promoted the other names of Signal, and Crab eye Goby. One of the few gobies that will spawn in captivity it is recommended that breeders replicate the natural Indo-Pacific habitat of live sandy bottoms. The Two Spot Goby prefers sand which it can sift through its gills. They prefer live food including microscopic algae and brine shrimp. This, of course, greatly assists in keeping the aquarium floor clean of extra algae growth and helps keep a stable environment that enhances the breeding possibility. Signigobius biocellatus are considered reef-safe and can be witnessed regularly darting about in and out of caves and substructures while terra-forming the setting floor.
The Two Spot Goby stays relatively small, reaching a mature length of 3.5 inches, and can easily survive in an aquarium of only ten gallons. It is necessary to avoid having other Two Spot Goby unless they are a mating pair as they can be Inter-species aggressive, however, remain mostly passive towards other species unless threatened and cannot vanish into hiding. The Two Spot Goby is moderately difficult to maintain simply due to their practices of changing their world to fit their personality. Enthusiasts commonly request pairs of Two Spot Gobies who already have a relationship and enjoy the tremendous sense of cohabitation they represent in the marine world.
